Welcome to
Chez les Honorés LLC
One of Newark's First Cottage Food Businesses
Inspired by our combined family history, we developed the first of five salt-free seasoning blends when my mother began emergency dialysis treatment. We were able to recreate her lifelong favorite Louisiana Creole recipes that my grandmother used to make.
The flavor profile of each spice blend is so distinct that the sodium is not even missed! Controlling the amount
of salt that is added to our food enables us to remain well below the American Heart Association’s
recommended limit of 2,400 mg of sodium per day.
In 2024, my husband experienced a brief episode of severe dizziness. Aside from increased fatigue, he was otherwise asymptomatic. However, his cardiologists informed us that his “widowmaker” artery was 80-90% blocked, and he was at imminent risk of a heart attack or stroke. This was attributed to genetically high cholesterol. Following his quadruple bypass surgery, the importance of continuing to adhere to a low-sodium diet was repeatedly emphasized.
From our kitchen to yours, we wish you continued good health and happiness!
Sincerely,
Chez les Honorés
